The ban was widely seen by Trump’s supporters as a politically motivated attack by the left, particularly after Trump’s controversial loss to Joe Biden in the 2020 election.

Zuckerberg tried to justify the suspension by citing concerns that Trump’s posts could incite further violence, violating the platform’s policies on harmful content.
