Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem, Member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has pledged a ₦1 Billion empowerment package to support his constituents [earn]

The announcement was made during an event in his constituency which he attended shortly after returning from the grand defection ceremony that saw Governor Umo Eno and key political leaders in Akwa Ibom move from the PDP to the APC. Addressing the gathering, Hon. Idem stated his belief in inclusive party unity, assuring both old and new APC members of equal treatment.

He announced that 1,000 constituents will receive ₦1 million each, with beneficiaries drawn from over 160 villages in Ukanafun and Oruk Anam LGAs, noting that selection will involve endorsement by community heads, to ensure the beneficiaries are truly bonafide members of the constituency.

Hon. Idem’s initiative adds to his already impressive achievements in under two years in office, which includes building critical internal roads across his federal constituency, Empowering women and youths with startup grants, Sponsoring over 100 constituents abroad to China for tech and business skill acquisition, Facilitating federal employments and appointments for numerous constituents and so on.
