[earn] Nigeria is called "giant of Africa". America is called "superpower". This both establish one fact, both countries are outstandingly large and great in at least one thing. In the case of America, many things contribute to its status as a "superpower". You can't just earn such a "super" title by being just another normal country, no, you cannot. That is why it is not so many countries that have same title, if at all there is a second one. For Nigeria, of course any country can become a giant of its continent if their adults born more babies. How are both countries different? [earn]

1. Economy

America has a $26.19Trillion economy. Nigeria have just $380Billion economy. That's is to say Nigeria's entire economy is not even worth the tithe of America's economy. America is the biggest economy in the world. It has the highest number of Billionaires, multinational businesses conglomerates and leads every research and technology innovations.

[earn]

Nigeria on the other hand boasts only of about 5 billionaires, third-largest economy in Africa and a rapidly declining economy.

2. Leadership

America have always had strong, visionary leaders. These successive leaders position the country to be the best and keep being the best after them. They strengthen institutions, enact laws that protects collective existence and progress. Nigeria on the other hand places tribe above leadership. Incompetent tribesman is favored against a qualified individual for delicate public offices etc.

3. Corruption

Both countries are corrupt. But the propensity for corruption is larger in Nigeria, where it only takes bribing one or two individuals to capture, bend-at-will, manipulate or cause to act against collective interest an entire agency or a constituted authority. [earn] For example, the much-celebrated Nigerian police officer, Abba Kyari, was later caught in a fraud and money-laundering scandal. Kyari, who was once hailed as a "super cop" for his role in high-profile criminal investigations, was suspended after allegations emerged that he was involved in money laundering activities with Ramon Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi. Hushpuppi, a social media influencer, pleaded guilty to money laundering charges in the United States. Kyari was accused of facilitating payments to Nigerian police personnel from Hushpuppi1. He was also implicated in a drug cartel case, where he allegedly tried to recruit fellow officers into a drug plot.

In America, corruption exists, but to succeed at it requires a considerably large number of people to be compromised. If successful, corruption happens in grand scale, otherwise, it doesn't happen at all. For example, the deep state corruption in Washington DC, involving so many high ranking democrats which President-elect Donald Trump has promised to dismantle.

4. Military

America has the biggest military in the world. Nigeria's military is incomparable in terms of strength, innovation, professionalism, victories, strategies, arsenal, equipment and budget.

5. People

Nigerians and Americans are very different in many ways. Some Nigerians are tough, hardnut, resilient, hardworking, hopeful, funny and happy but highly manipulative, calculative, skeptical, cynical and scared people. Americans are daring, fearless, bold, risk taking, hardworking people but soft, needs protectives services, needs pampering by the government etc.

6. Institutions

[earn]

Nigeria's institutions are prone to mismanagement, incompetence, not following due process, political control, inefficient and largely corrupt. America's institutions are largely law-abiding, citizen-oriented, public-serving and often independently operated devoid of control or political weaponization.

7. Healthcare

[earn]

America's healthcare sector is large and very advanced. On the contrary, Nigeria's healthcare sector is bad, neglected, poorly managed, and largely illequiped.

8. Culture

Nigeria just recently started migrating from primitivism, superstition and barbarism in the name of culture although in some deep rural areas, traces still prevail. America left this phase behind completely many decades ago.

[earn]

In rich cultural context, both countries are upholding a mix of standard cultural practices that does not impact society negatively.

9. Religion

[earn] Both countries are secular States, but Nigeria is more prone to religious fanaticism than America. There has been more religious crisis in Nigeria in the past 30years than it's been in America.

10. Innovation Drive

The innovation drive of an American is often towards self-fulfillment, peace of mind, and a good life after retirement. [earn] This is why many Americans spend years, even decades, working to perfect a certain goal, rarely giving up and seldom in a rush for fame. On the other hand, the primary innovation drive for some Nigerians is often money, control over others, to bend others at will, to get away with a lawless lifestyle, to be able to make 'poor people disappear,' to 'make it as quick as possible', etc. Great innovation happens when people think and observe ways that life can be better for others, instead of ways that life can be better just for themselves.
